Fantastic news that our 2022 Daily Red Shiraz has been awarded a gold medal at the 2023 Australian Small Winemakers Show! This is a prestigious show with about 800 wines entered from around the country. There were only 6 gold medals awarded to Queensland wines.
We are thrilled to announce that our 2022 Daily Red Shiraz has a won a gold medal, as well as the trophy for the Best Queensland Wine at the prestigious 2023 Royal Queensland Wine Awards. Our Nikki’s Vineyard Syrah has also won a silver medal at the same show.
Great news, that our very popular 2021 Shiraz Viognier has been awarded a gold medal at the 2022 Queensland Wine Awards. It was also popular with the stewards at the show who awarded us the trophy for Stewards Choice – Granite Belt!

We are pleased to announce that our 2021 Tannat has won a gold medal at the 2021 Queensland wine awards. This again proves that our decision to plant Tannat ten years ago was a good one. It has produced a consistently excellent wine year after year. Our 2021 blend of CMT (Cabernet Sauvignon – Merlot – Tannat) also did well winning a bronze medal at these awards.

Tony has just published a new book. It is a practical guide to growing winegrapes in the Granite Belt. The book has been some time in the making but the Covid lockdown in 2020 provided the opportunity to get it finished. The book is available from the cellar door or from several local outlets including the Ballandean Store, Nutrien Ballandean, the Queensland College of Wine Tourism and the Stanthorpe Visitor Information Centre.
Fantastic news that James Halliday has again awarded our winery four and a half stars in the 2021 Wine Companion. Our 2018 CMT (Cabernet-Merlot-Tannat) was awarded 92 points and our 2019 Daily Red Shiraz 89 points.
